Because JoeBay U is a learning environment, not a teaching school, the first and most important staff person is you, the student. You come to JoeBay U because of a hunger—for competency, confidence, control. JoeBay U's job is to deliver to you what you want, when, where, and how you want it.
You supply the why.
JoeBay U's principal instructor is Joe Symons, a multi-decade resident of Orcas Island. Long time islanders may remember the Page Works in Eastsound (in the building now occupied by Tres Fabu), which Joe started in 1988. Although his formal credentials include a B.A. cum laude from Amherst College (1967) and a M.S. and PhD from U.W. (1973),

Joe has a knack for translating computer babble and rigid (if inscrutable) procedures into understandable language and simple steps.
Joe started programming computers in 1967 as a beginning graduate student at U.W. and has been helping individuals and organizations reach accommodation (if not harmony) with digital tools ever since.
In addition to his capability as a digital tools translator, Joe is a successful crystal potter and author. Consequently, JoeBay U offers learning opportunities that expose a student to integrating left and right brain competencies in order to be successful in artistic and creative productions.
