Courses
Courses are the method by which a student (you) become empowered to solve or resolve an issue. Courses are designed to be short, concentrated moments to learn about or practice on a specific topic. Courses are intentionally short—depending on the student's learning progress, one course might be sufficient to get started on the road to mastery. Courses can be repeated—take as many in any area as desired to achieve the level of learning you desire.
Courses are offered in several areas: 1) the imaginative, creative written communication arts; 2) the digital tool understanding and competency arts; 3) studio space available for potters and ceramic artists and 4) (under development) music instruction with the talented Anita Orne, musician with the Olga Symphony.
JoeBay U's goal is to ensure you don't need to ask the same question again because you never really understood the answer in the first place.
Unless otherwise noted, all courses are held at the JoeBay U campus located in Doe Bay on Orcas Island. Students may request other courses and may request courses be offered in locations other than Doe Bay.
Additional courses to be added to the offerings:
Digital Tools Focus:
* Digital photo basics
* Email options: attachments, organization
* Learning to program using graphic languages like Turtle Art, Scratch, Etoys (built in to the OLPC's XO computer.)
Communication Arts Focus:
* Composing crafting creating: words that work
