Your kids or your grandkids want to send you photos. They want to send you text messages. You think that photos are going to come in the mail, that they are developed at some lab and that they will arrive weeks after they were taken—they don't know what you are talking about. They want to email photos to you, they want to talk to you and see you at the same time, using the computer—you don't know what they are talking about.
You would like more contact with them since they are not living in Olga but Osaka. You see them once a year maybe.
JoeBay U can get you started. Hopefully you have a computer, as you will really need one. (You could use the Library computers but it is way less spontaneous even if it is less expensive). With a computer and a DSL connection, you can see the pictures they send you, you can write back to them, and you can watch them while you talk to them, for free, anywhere in the world. (Note: if they are halfway around the world, one of you is going to have to stay up late or get up early so you can talk at the same time).
If you are wanting to be really connected, you'll want to learn about text messaging, so you can send short notes to your kids or grandkids whenever and where ever you are using your cell phone, and, more importantly, they can send messages to you, which they will think is really neat.
