What to Get? What to Do?

What to get? is a common question fielded by JoeBay U. The answer could be simple, but like Gillette, who long ago realized that they should give away the razor so they could sell you blades over and over, the work of using a digital tool is way higher than the hardware and/or software that might seem inexpensive today. JoeBay U will listen to what you intend, or believe you think might maybe not-really-sure plan to do, and suggest the digital tools that seem best suited to your situation.

What do do? is often accompanied by physical and/or verbal agony and handwringing, as it usually is a call made to JoeBay U when something Not Good has happened and the student's blood has all but entirely drained from his or her head. There may be an immediate solution that wrests fading life from the jaws of death, or there may be some ideas to try to rescue the situation, or there may be the (probably not as calming as desired) words gently urging acceptance of irretrievable death of your loved data or digital tool.

Some of the JoeBay U's students who have graduated and gone on to glory:

Shearwater Kayaks (computer training, advice, web page assistance, spreadsheet design, printers, recommendations)

Four Winds Camp (computer training, advice)

Beach House on Orcas (web page design and training)

Cafe Olga (payroll)

Orcas Island Real Estate Brokers (MLS prior to the internet)

San Juan Preservation Trust (data conversion, initial web page, stewardship management database)

orcas net (web site mail response and fulfillment software for Pure and Simple Music)

Children's House (initial web site, crash recovery, backup hardware, promotional materials, donor database)

Jaku An Studios (hardware and software recommendations, crash recovery, iphone and MobileMe advice)
